July 15th, 2019. You were so ahead of the game and were knocking out your wedding plans left and right! July 15th, 2019 was when we first met in my little office space in Northern Kentucky. The connection was immediate for me, I knew I wanted to see these two incredible humans create the event of a lifetime together, I wanted to be able to capture the beautiful and loving day they were so thoughtfully bringing to life. My goodness... How things changed for us all in those 803 days since. 803 days you patiently waited. You weighed all the options and stressed over all the of the necessary changes and delays. You were empathetic to everyone throughout the entire process while juggling your own emotional trauma that is having to reschedule your wedding day. Finally. Alec and Cecilia were officially married in Sedona Arizona where they eloped at Cathedral Rock (DREAMY!) in July of 2020, but their wedding party finally got underway September 25th, 2021 at the Carnegie Center of Columbia Tusculum in Cecilia's hometown of Cincinnati. They invited 75 of their closest family and friends from all over the globe to an intimate revisiting of their vows and officially exchanged rings, something that wasn't done when they eloped. The room was full of electricity as everyone buzzed about enjoying finally being together celebrating these two wonderful people. And talk about a sharp looking bunch! I believe the words that exploded from Alec's mouth when he finally saw his stunning bride were, "OHMYGAH... YOU LOOK LIKE A MOVIE STAR!" and I think everyone would agree. What. A. Beautiful. Day. Thank you for choosing me to celebrate this day with you, finally! This beautiful event was brought together with help from the following vendors
Favorite part of the day : "Sharing our vows with everyone and having our first dance to La Vie En Rose" See the full preview here! It's a tradition that has been around since 1976, and a tradition I suggest every person should experience. As I walked the blocks from my apartment, I can see all the usual setup of beer tents and food stands, but I had a bigger goal in mind for my Oktoberfest this year. I've experienced Oktoberfest Cincinnati for years, I'm generally in my Dirndl the ENTIRE week, but the running of the wieners was an event that had eluded me. I saw the crowd of people encircling something down the street, I knew exactly what it was. I had arrived with perfect timing as the first heat was getting themselves set. Hot dogs, hot dogs everywhere! Talk about an instant good time. Before I knew it, I was surrounded by dogs of all kinds in their finest lederhosen, alpine hats, and adorning their finest buns. There were even a few cheerleaders there to ensure their dog sibling knew they were fully supported. The 10 heats and the final race only took about 30 minutes, but I implore the city to figure out how to make it an all day event. Give opening Oktoberfest day entirely to the dogs. Costume contests, best tricks, roundest belly, longest dog, maybe build an obstacle course of a mountain just for buddies and just watch them go. Find the REAL Sausage King and Queen of Cincinnati. After the last 20 months of surviving this hellscape that is life right now, I think the answer is an obvious one.
More Wieners. Simply. Brazilian rosewood touches, Egyptian and floral motifs, gleaming marble and custom nickel-silver fixtures normally would be the first things to catch your eye in this exquisite venue. The Rookwood Pottery fountain, the famed Hall of Mirrors, some of the world’s most remarkable French Art Deco pieces in existence right in front of you, but not on Katie and Brian's wedding day this past spring. May 15th, 2021, all eyes were on Katie and Brian. In my first vaccinated, heavy restrictions lifted event since the start of this pandemic 16 months ago, the combination of pure joy and relief in the air was impenetrable. Everyone in the entire building was high from the contact buzz. The dinner guests at the restaurant in the hotel, the passersby on the street, the other wedding parties about *wink*, everyone was feeling the vibe. The weather was impeccable with sunny skies and a very mild 80. So they got dressed, met up, had a drink, took a walk, did the thing, ate, drank some more, and partied until after hours. I am so grateful to have been able to jump back into what I love with people I truly love too. Thank you for your trust and enjoy reliving this wonderful day! Favorite part of the day: "Being announced and walking down the stairs. It felt like Brian and I were really special in that moment." See the entire preview here!Brianna & Christian had one of the most emotional weddings I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. From the very first moment they saw one another, Christian specifically, was a flood of emotion and the love was palpable. A normally stoic and composed Brianna even found herself caught up in the midst of all the emotion, and when Christians started singing his vows, no one could contain themselves. Because who really does that...? Christian. Christian does. A perfect Halloween evening, a breath taking sunset, and a crowd of responsible and respectful social distancers created an incredible atmosphere. The first dance straight from a movie moved into dinner, cake, dancing, and KARAOKE?! Yeah. This one was pretty spectacular. Enjoy this long preview and then check out the whole gallery! Big assist goes to...
Your Favorite Part : "The karaoke" See the full gallery here!Kristen and Christian are a WONDERFUL pair of humans that call Covington home. When they first reached out to talk about their wants, they had expressed how important it was to them to be able to capture the area they love so much and chosen to call home, together. They had originally planned a big party at the historic Leapin' Lizard Lounge, but thanks to Covid, of course, all the plans changed. They swapped their big party to a small celebration in Mainstrausse; An intimate but socially distant ceremony at the park, and drinks and dinner with a small group at Cock and Bull on the patio in the heart of Covington. With a bigger celebration still planned for later in life, these two can sleep well knowing they had the most magical day and shared so much love with everyone involved despite the status of the world. I'm looking forward to hanging with these two and their family again soon! Until then, scroll down for the preview! Thanks for the Assist!
The Glitter & Gold : Jared the Galleria of Jewelry Your Favorite Part : "The Ceremony" See the full preview gallery here!Never in my life did I anticipate we would be living in such a strange time in history. So many different levels of weird are happening to everyone in the world right now. I mean... What a memorable time for a wedding! Some couples have chosen to reschedule, others have adjusted their ceremonies so they can still happen with an official wedding day later next year, or, like Karly and Rick, they went through and will be celebrating with a reception next April. What a well thought out celebration they had considering the circumstances. Not only are we mid-pandemic, but the forecast called for rain all day, and it didn't disappoint. They were married with a group of 9 (myself included) inside the church, while groups of family and close friends watched the live stream from the parking lot and comfort of their own quarantined cars. We absolutely made the most of the day, and Rick masterminded a surprise for Karly with a Precinct dinner in their dining room, decorated by family. Thank you again for including me for your celebration!!! See their day below! To see the full preview, click here!My goodness, talk about a memorable client. I can still hear her infectious laugh at every glance of an image. Sophie contacted me only weeks before her wedding date frantic to find someone who would fit her and her fiance Lucas' wedding day. They had a quick ceremony planned, an hour for cake and formal photos, and then had the Hofbrauhaus scheduled for the entire group to come have dinner. Sophie is from the UK, and Lucas is from right here in Kentucky. The amazing wonder of the internet brought these two together, which in turn brought me into their lives too. The flights in to the US for their family and friends arriving from the UK were so stressful, I knew that these two really needed to be able to relax and enjoy what little time we had when their day arrived. They had more than enough stress already.
This was just a three hour day and yet it seems like we captured so much more than what three hours could offer. Their entire gallery will be ready shortly, but until then, you can relive the day below! Whitney and Andrew had a super unique kind of event. Low key, easy going, intimate and loving. The guest list was comprised of mostly family so we made sure to focus on getting everyone captured, and for the reception style event they were having it couldn't have been more perfect a day. From the perfectly shaded tree with screaming yellow leaves that was just so precisely autumn to grandpa serenading the entire crowd, it was how celebrations are meant to be. Full of love. Check it out what I mean below. See the full preview HERE!Favorite part of the day: "Speeches and beyond, especially the dances/dancing. Basically anything that involved our guests."
It feels like just a couple weeks ago Toria and I were sweating our asses off in Brazil, and between trying to catch photos of our coach sleeping, dying of dehydration, and giving side eyes to one another in a 15 passenger van while it drives directly into potholes, we somewhere discussed her new boyfriend. The one she was considering moving out of mom and dad's for. The one who put a dresser, specifically for her, in his closet so she would feel welcome at his apartment. Not everyone in her life was sold on this guy, but she was already pretty sure he was something different. That was December 2017. Record scratch. Fast forward. They did the thing. She moved in. He proposed. Now they're officially married. I am so glad that I was the one who got to capture this group of people. I knew a handful of them in advance, so the comfort level was pretty unbelievable. House Tyler, Tyler Two, and Tyler Three Streams... Oh my... Joy, laughter, love, friendship- exactly how a wedding should be. Enjoy your preview! See the full preview Here!
Favorite part of the day: "Seeing my husband for the first time."
This year, we are doing fall minis a little differently. We are partnering with the West Chester Cooperative Nursery School and donating 50% of our profits from these sessions back to them! So, instead of offering just one date and one location, I'm opening up THREE dates. Two Sunday options, and a Wednesday Sunset option! So, what's included? Where are we going? What can you bring? Let's talk about it.
"How can I book? Where are we going?"We will be utilizing three very different locations this year. French Park, Sharon Woods, and Devou Park will be our beautiful landscape for out mini sessions.
I can't wait to see everyone this year! Thank you for your continued support! <3
Amy and Jeff have got to be some of the most relaxed clients I've ever worked with. Easy going, adaptable, flexible, all things you want for the day and the people involved. I captured their engagement photos last fall and how quickly their wedding day snuck up on us! I actually can't believe it's already been a few weeks since! Amy and Jeff got married at a brand new venue here in Cincinnati, St. John's in Harrison. After the ceremony, we exited through bubbles and made our way around town for photos. We took a stroll around downtown, headed to the top of the city, and finally landed at Longworth Hall for the reception. Check out the day for yourselves! See the full preview here!
Favorite part of the day: "Dancing with friends and fam."
The day finally happened! My sweet couple from Leicester finally declared their love for one another in front of close family in friends in a GORGEOUSLY transformed Muhlhauser Barn. Maria worked for weeks on her hand crafted flowers, and I am so in love with how they looked! What a unique celebrations for a unique couple. Ugh. This preview speaks for itself. See it below! See the full preview here!
Favorite part of the day: Maria: "I loved the whole thing! If I had to choose it would be exchanging vows."
Jon - "Seeing Maria for the first time." Chris and Carley have been on my calendar for so long, it felt like I was just part of the crew by the time I arrived on their wedding day. We had a spectacular time at the Cincinnati Nature Center last fall and had a magical engagement session together. Still to this day, one of the most memorable and beautifully lit sessions I've ever had. I knew their wedding day would be nothing short of the same. These two had a beautiful ceremony in Dry Ridge, Kentucky at a venue that is SO gorgeous, I'm shocked I didn't know about it sooner. Green jello shots for the entire bridal party, a gorgeous ceremony, tequila shots to start the reception, lots of laughter, lots of sweat (ALL from me), a 10 minute performance complete with costumes, dancing, singing, and some breathtaking scenery and florals. The most perfect of summer days. SEE THE FULL PREVIEW HERETHIS EVENT IS NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE FOLLOWING VENDORS
Favorite part of the day: "Being pronounced husband & wife - the kiss 😍"
Christin and Kevin came to me last fall. We had the most magical engagement session down in OTR. Christin insisted the whole time she was awkward in front of the camera. When they received their images back, I'm happy to report she realized she's NOT AT ALL awkward. Fast forward to May 11th, and it's finally the big day. An absolutely perfect day to get married at the Heatherwoode Golf Club. Overcast skies without any rain around, perfect temperature, and Christin arranged a surprise for Kevin that included their dog, Leia. Christin had insisted the dog not come every time Kevin asked, the day would be so much to juggle already and having the dog there would just be too much. A hard no in his mind. A first look to remember though- the anticipation of walking toward your future wife with your eyes closed, then you turn around and open your eyes to take in your bride, 10 seconds later your best friend busts around the hedge with the wiggliest butt you've ever seen. Talk about emotion overload. Talk about perfection. It set the tone for the entire day. The ceremony was flawless, dinner was delicious, the Cold Stone catering was a spectacular hit, and the reception didn't dull for a second. I mean... the pictures really do speak for themselves. Favorite part of the day: "Laying on the golf course in our wedding attire after the ceremony and enjoying calling each other husband and wife for the first time."
Since the 7th grade, there are two things that were always associated with my friend Kacie: Princesses and the color pink. Throughout junior high and our first year of high school together, those things never changed. Our daily lives were filled with thousands of laughs, scheming, and ridiculous doodles galore. Flash forward to... oh my god... 18 YEARS LATER... and Kacie doesn't insist you refer to her as Princess anymore, but the color pink is still very much alive. No one in the world can pull the color like her. Well... Maybe her new husband James. Upon our final consult, I learned of James' magenta alligator kicks he was wearing for the big day. My word, did they not disappoint. Talk about stylish. Motorcycles, bubbles, and surprise rain clouds were all a part of their big day, and all of it was pretty perfect. Favorite part of the day: "The dancing!"
Maria and Jon contacted me last year after finding me on Pinterest. They were getting married at a venue I had shot before, which led them my way. Maria and Jon are also currently located in London, so I was excited to know my images were being seen across the globe. They are getting married here in Cincinnati in July, and based on what I've heard so far, are throwing an amazing time. It just so happened that I was taking a European trip this spring, and I talked them into letting me do some engagement photos for them while I was in town. I'm so glad they agreed! We tested our foot strength, our dancing skills, and some balancing and had a beautiful evening together. Check out a few of my favorites below!
Oh. My. Word. I knew from the moment I saw Christopher's infectious smile outside my office door that I needed to take him and his fiance Brandon's photograph. I am SO happy that they seemed to think the same about me. You can find their engagement session HERE... but you might already remember it. IT WAS PERFECT. But then March 30th happened... the warm weather we had seen the week before their wedding day allowed the magnolias to open just perfectly after an afternoon rain shower. I mean, see for yourself below. <3 Thank you for trusting me to capture your beautiful love. I hadn't seen Becca and Matt since our engagement shoot at Devou Park, where Matt insisted we take a photo of him climbing the electric poles and Becca be on his lap. Still some of my favorite engagement photos to date! So when Becca told me they had chosen Mother of God Roman Catholic Church as their ceremony space as well as organized a dove release, my excitement was absolutely peaked. Becca and Matt are super fun people, so I had no doubt their entire wedding would be full of a good time. The day was complete with super cheesy flower girls, a limo with a suicide door, beautiful weather, even more beautiful people, a drive-by window beer delivery, and a groom yelling "WHERE'S MY RING?!" in panic because he forgot I had taken it for detail shots. Yet another very successful and gorgeous event captured. SEE THE ENTIRE PREVIEW HERE!This event was not possible without the help to the following additional vendors:
...Where to start... This wedding... These people... I've known Josh since I was first starting out portrait photography (a whopping 15 years ago). So when I had seen that he had finally proposed to Tiffany, I by no means was expecting them to select me as their photographer, but when I got the message asking if I was available my heart nearly exploded. Delight doesn't even begin to describe what I felt, in fact I'm not sure there are many words that would do it justice. Elated, we scheduled their engagement photos and our journey began. When our final consultation came around, I knew this was going to be a spectacular kind of day. Tiffany absolutely nailed her Frozen theme. An absolute vision, and sparkles galore- A lady after my own barracuda heart! The Phoenix lent a hand with the breathtaking venue, and city of Cincinnati assisted with a perfectly Cincy winter weather, a high of 43 degrees, overcast all day with 100% chance of the best architecture in the midwest. Danielle and Bill met at Skyline. You remember, and if not scroll back a few pages and you'll find our epic Skyline Chili engagement session. Danielle was immediately smitten with Bill, the noodle guy. Fast forward a bit, as soon as Danielle walked into my office, I became the one smitten with these two. Fast forward a little bit more, and we finally arrived to their wedding day. The forecast all week had been all over the place, but the day of called for rain until their 6:00 start time. As we do, adjustments were made quickly and the day began. The rain wouldn't stop. We delayed, we hoped, we crossed all of our fingers, but finally decided we needed to go ahead and do this thing. We worked together to ensure that the glass building Danielle had to wait in wouldn't be an issue, as Danielle and Bill had not seen each other and wanted (ie: NEEDED) that to be a big moment. One word for you all- Professionals. We turned the outdoor setup into an outdoor setup that offered protection from the rain. It was intimate, it was heartfelt, it was so perfect for what it needed to be. They kissed, the rain FINALLY broke, I stole them away, the sky turned pink, we danced and then... the craziest thing I've ever see happen at a wedding happened. ....BTW... I hope you are just learning of this moment right now... <3 Special thanks to the following vendors to helping to create this magical day:
As I was editing these images, I kept hearing Jessica's laugh. It's infectious. Even now as I'm writing this, I can hear her giggle in my head. Steve and Jessica are getting married super soon. They are having what is sure to be an unforgettable evening, as they have a Halloween styled wedding happening October 27th of this year. As soon as the questions came up, "would you be willing to wear a costume?", Mom was sure I would kick them out of my office for even asking, but I nearly leapt out of my seat with excitement at the thought! So when I mentioned smoke bombs and fireworks, instead of a side eye, I got the kind of reaction I would give someone if they said "I want to safely light things on fire around you and then take your picture". After spending some time walking around the park and learning about Jessica and Steve, I am completely confident we are going to have a really special time. Plus, they are planning FOG MACHINES at their wedding, so, I mean.... The things we can do with fog machines......!!! Anyway, I absolutely love that they brought so much of themselves to our engagement shoot. You guys nailed it.
I am so thankful to have met so many really awesome folks throughout my life. There is no better feeling in the world than an old friend reaching out and asking you to come into their home and capture a new arrival of their family. At 5 days old, I got to meet the newest Wagner family member. With a mohawk full of strawberry blonde hair, this girl knew how to make an entrance already. Daddy was a punk rocker, Isla is ready to follow in his footsteps with her natural rockin' hair. Daddy Nick, brother Nicolas, mommy Tama and sweet girl Isla snuggling together on the floor may be one of my most favorite moments of a session ever. Nicolas decided he wanted to wear Isla's hair bows as bow ties, and referred to them as "dates". The imagination of little brains always astounds me. Welcome to the world Isla. You are already so adored. Enjoy those head rubs to the fullest!
One of my most favorite things about being a photographer is how randomly I find clients. I met Faith's aunt while getting my nails done, and within hours of meeting Aunt Raylene, had Faith's number stored in my phone and scheduled to have an evening together for her senior photos. What. A. Dream. Seriously. We strolled through George Rogers Clark in Covington, utilized the incredible surroundings throughout the historic district, and took some beautiful images that will be treasured for life. Thank you for allowing me to get creative with you, Faith. I hope you and your family love them as much as I do!
Nicole and Steve are no strange faces around here. They are on my business cards, the front page of my website, and all over my instagram. I mean, look at them. A. They don't take bad photos. B. They are naturally stylish. C. LOOK HOW IN LOVE THEY ARE!!! I was so thrilled when I shot their engagement photos, I knew their "wedding" day would be no different. These two eloped in Italy this summer. I was SO bummed when Nicole said something about wishing I had been with them there... ME TOO, GIRL. ME TOO! But instead of setting fire to Italy, we set fire to Cincinnati, so much so that we must've set a fire alarm off in space and halfway through our portraits we got hit with a monsoon. Talk about cool cucumbers though - Un-phased, completely. After grabbing some of the important photos that were missed in Italy, we made our way to The Transept, where a small reception was held. What an incredible event, what an incredible couple. Thank you for including me in your plans. Enjoy your previews! This day is only possible with the help of these other vendors too!
